Fr Barrera is a Professor of Economics and Theology at Providence College, and author of Economic Compulsion and Christian Ethics, God and the Evil of Scarcity: Moral Foundations of Economic Agency, and Globalization and Economic Ethics: Distributive Justice in the Knowledge Economy. He holds a degree in Industrial Management Engineering from De La Salle University in the Philippines, a Licentiate in Sacred Theology from the Dominican House of Studies in Washington DC, and a doctorate in Economics from Yale University.
